Thanks to all for the assistance.
Os: When I disabled that one box in the text file, I could click onto the font of the word that I had made without it freezing but it didn't identify the font name up top, so I checked the box on again like how it was. Meanwhile, clicking onto the "A" on the left side menu to type new font still froze Corel.
Signage: My OS is Windows XP. I'm not at work today but it is a fast computer with at least 1gig of RAM, a fast processor and only 1/4 full on the drive. (In other words it's not a Celeron piece of junk with like 64 RAM and limited space.) I use the Font Navigator that came with Corel X3. I have 20,000 fonts in the Navigator, and I had close to 500 installed in my Windows/Font folder when the problem started. I have since deleted the ones that I don't need and have it down to around 470. I made sure to keep the required fonts for Windows and Corel, but I noticed when I rebooted that the font was Impact in the words "Windows starting up..."
Here is another explanation on what is happening. When I click on the font it hangs up (hourglass icon) for several minutes. Once in a while it will acknowledge the font after 3-5 minutes and things begin to work, although the font drop down menu doesn't allow me to scroll smoothly through the list. Meanwhile, Word Perfect works fine when I change fonts in that program.
I also called the support phone # and I tried their suggestion by trying Corel in safe mode and it still froze on me with the font.
I decided to select-delete all the fonts except the necessary ones through Control Panel/Fonts and for some odd reason none of the fonts got deleted and when I checked the list again in detail, all the fonts had a byte number.
Madison and Alexei: I think I will remove more fonts and try to get it under 400. I'll see if the problem persists after I get the list down.
Thanks again, I do try all suggestions. I just want everything to go back to the way it was without the freezing or hanging up. I also tried to do a sytem restore and it wouldn't go back to even a few days ago.
