Happy Valentine's day!
Just got my downloadable upgrade for Corel DRAWings X3 Pro.
Well, I am more than surprised and happy. It is an astonishing product...for just 299.
My first impression from DRAWings 4 Professional is that there are even much more features than what was posted. It's unbelievably stable and fast, gives top stitch quality results, has a ton of new tools and functions and YES, it runs perfectly well with my CorelDRAW! In my opinion it interacts with CorelDRAW even better and faster than before. There is a bunch of new functions and tools in the digitizing part as well, like many pre-digitized fonts, parametres control over corners, fix & lock stitches, half-pitch compensation, variable pitch and the list goes on and on. I will let you know more as soon as I am more familiar with it!
I can't wait to evaluate Deco Studio as well, as soon as there is a trial version available. As long as it adds more value to my embroidery business, an extra 1,999 is no big deal.
Ken
Ken, your enthusiasm is infectious! I've had the opportunity to test the new software, for a few weeks now and wholeheartedly agree with your assessment.
For $299.00 it's quite an upgrade!
I also had the opportunity to Beta test Deco Studio. Unfortunately, the release version wasn't available for us to evaluate. Therefore, there is no way that I could, nor would I even attempt to, post a comment regarding Deco.
So glad to hear the good reviews on Drawings 4 Pro! I recieved an email giving me a link to order the product about a month ago but am unable to find it again. Also, I can not seem to find it on the Corel site. Can you possible give me the website to order it from?
Thanks Much!
Robin Ney
Very useful information and order options are available at:
http://www.drawstitch.com/DRAWings4.htm
DRAWings® 4 is a DRAWstitch product.
Please note that this version of DRAWings has no connection with Corel Corporation and does not include CorelDRAW® Graphics Suite as graphics engine.
Corel Corporation has announced a new partnership with Wilcom International, a leading developer of embroidery and decorations technology, to introduce "Wilcom DecoStudio© e1 | a CorelDRAW product". DecoStudio© e1 offers the ease-of-use and full creative power of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite while delivering the digitizing quality and flexibility of Wilcom® ES and is the first product resulting from the new alliance with Wilcom.
More information on the new product and partnership with Wilcom as well as a special trade-in offer for Corel DRAWings customers is available in this blog entry.
Klaus, although it is optional I can still use the CorelDRAW graphics engine within my DRAWings 4 PRO, as with the previous two versions of DRAWings I got !!! plus a thousand of new tools and options with great output/quality results. So, what do you mean by "does not include the CorelDRAW graphics engine"? Also, I got DRAWings 2 from Corel and I even at that time I was informed that DRAWings is a Drawstitch product.
BTW, when excactly will Deco Studio be available for shipments so as to try this one as well?
Thanks again,
Klaus,
Is Deco Studio a Corel product?
Make the following test.Convert a Corel Draw file to embroidery file using Deco Studio and then bring it back to Corel checking your handles.Surprised? All original vector handles are gone.Reason?Wilcom can simple not handle Bezzier points as it is an old system based on a very old technology.
As you might know there is one more product available in the market which is working interactively with Corel X2 and X3 Graphic suit.
Iam attaching the link for your info as i feel you need to be updated on the latest in embroidery:
http://www.pulsemicro.com/Product%20Pages/tdgmlbp/xi/drawfusion.htm
DecoStudio is a product developed in partnership between Wilcom and Corel Corp. It is the only embroidery solution officially supported and recommended by Corel. I know that there are a few other applications out there that plug into CorelDAW, but Corel only recommends those from Wilcom and works very closely with them to provide the best possible experience between the graphics and embroidery parts. We are working very hard on version e1.5 based on CorelDRAW X4, which is expected to be available for existing e1 customers at a nominal cost later this year.
The link you provide is really misleading. First, there is a statement that it "combines the extensive graphics capabilities of CorelDRAW with..." but I cannot find any mention that it does NOT include CorelDRAW in the packaging. The info on the site is very light.
