Bitmaps losing contrast after saving and reopening?

When I save a CorelDraw file with bitmaps and close it, upon reopening the file, the bitmaps have lost some of their contrast somehow. The image I'm having trouble with right now is a stock photo with a sRGB profile, but I tried it with a few other stock photos and a Photoshop creation and they all did the same thing. Am I overlooking some feature that would cause this to happen? Is it standard behaviour? I've been using X3 for a while and I never noticed this until now. I've attached a jpeg with this post that shows what happens. The image in question is the painted red boards in the background. I imagine it's happening with the photos on top too, but that won't be visible in the attached image.

 Thanks in advance.
