I've been to the Help file and am 99.9% sure that I am doing it correctly BUT the object will NOT move! Anyone have thoughts/ideas about this?

Is the object LOCKED?

a couple of different ways to do it;

  • In the object manager, drag it from one layer to another
  • Drag the object from the page onto the layer of choice in the object manager
  • Cut the object, make the desired layer the active one (click on it in the object manager), paste it.
  • If it's the first or last layer, <ctrl><home> and <ctrl><end> will move objects between layers (to the very top and very bottom of the page)
  • When an object is highlighted, you can use the little [>] arrow at the top right of the object manager to "move to layer.." or "copy to layer..."

{Of course, the layer you are trying to move it onto has to be editable as well...}
