I had to make 14 PDF proofs on a batch of business cards so they could be sent to the individuals for approval. I saved them all to the desktop. When I finished and viewed the desktop, there were 12 files on the desktop displaying the Adobe PDF logo and two with that windows generic "I don't know what kind of file this is" icon. These two files will open in Acrobat when I tell Windows what program to open them with. To reassociate them I have to do a "save as" in Acrobat - or delete them and export them again from Draw. I have also seen this behavior in X3. Anybody else experience this very annoying - and inconvenient - behavior?
Sounds like a system instability issue.
I have never had this happen in Adobe, only Corel. It has happened in X3 before. It isn't a constant occurrence, just occasional.
Tommy Westbrook:I have never had this happen in Adobe,
Adobe what? Illustrators default format is PDF, InDesign uses Distiller settings for its application published PDF. Which Adobe product were you talking about?
I have never had the issue with Corel but I'm still young yet! :-)
Mostly make them from InDesign. I think it is some sort of Windows "hiccup" that is causing this problem. Doesn't happen often but it does occasionally.
Does anyone have a contact number for Corel? We ordered 14 and it did not arrive.
