Description of machine : CorelDraw X4 Graphics Suite on Intel Core2Duo 6300 @ 1.86 GHz, 2GB RAM, Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2, Version 2002, On Board Video adapter, 17 GB free Disk Space

This machine gives Application error everytime when CorelDraw closes.
It says: CorelDRW.exe - Application Error - The instruction at "0x65207e5d" referenced memory at "0x01cbbe08". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

Those alphanumeric codes in the quotes are memory addresses.  They reference sectors in the RAM or on the hard disk.  Run scandisk and check your drive for corrupted sectors.  Alternatively, you can also get a free RAM tester by searching for and installing the MemtestX86 application.

Memtest is a good application. A number of years back, I was having system
crashes left and right in many applications. It wound up being a two-fold
problem. 1) I had a power supply that was not beefy enough, and 2) yep, I
had a bad memory chip. Things would work fine ... up until I needed to use
Memory that fell into the defect area of that chip. It's oftentimes an
overlooked problem: i.e., blame the app, blame the OS, but forgetting to
make sure there isn't a physical hardware issue causing the problem as well.

Yeah, you've always gotta remember that there's a hardware layer that everything depends on.  You can have the latest software, all updates, and a clean system, but if the hardware isn't up to snuff, it's all useless.

Look whether DEP (Data Execution Preveniton) is enabled. If yes, try to shut it down and check that program closing correctly. Lot of similar errors occuring because of DEP.
