Hello people of great knowleage, where do I change the background color outside the image in PP, my problem is that I'm doing a lot of images with a 10% black/or RGB 222,222,220 background, and that look allmost the same as the background outside the image when I downsample it, so it's hard to see.

That is controlled by your Windows color scheme.

To change the application background color, right-click the desktop and select "Display Properties..." from the menu.

Go to the Appearance tab, and click the "Advanced" button. A dialog box will appear.

On the drop-down list in that dialog box, select "Application background" and select a different color.

    That should fix it!

Thanks for your reply PixelDust, been there, done that, tryed everything from that drop-down, but it only change the background of the desktop inside PP, not the background of the image itself, "or outside the image", to better ilustrate what area, I markt it on the attaced image. I'm sure it can be done inside PP, from what I remember. So, any other suggestions?

"Edit" The HELP menu don't give any answers, and I don't know the english name of that area shown on the image?

I don't know of anything inside of Photo-Paint that will change the color. Sorry I couldn't help. Maybe someone else here knows...

It is in the system menu, but I'm afraid that I can't remember which bit... I would save your 'curent scheme', then change each element to a unique (garish) colour so you can tell which colour on the drop-down relates to which item on the desktop. Once you find it, revert back to your saved scheme and just change that element.
