    Acquire from Welcome/Quickstart Screen

X4 SP1 PhotoPaint, scanning from the QuickStart or Welcome screen by chosing "Acquire"  will lock up PhotoPaint X4. The image will scan but will not return to X4 desktop.

X3 does not exhibit this behavior and scans and returns the image with no issues.

X4 works fine from the File - Acquire command path.

I have found this on two machines Vista Home Premium 32 and Vista Home Premium 64. Can anyone else verify this behavior?

    Rikk:

I just fired up PP and from the welcome screen, aquired a scan. Upon the scanner completing the scan, I was returned to PP with the image from the scanner.

I have WinXP Pro, SP2 (this machine) and I used a Canon LiDE 35 (I know, very bad for scanning photos, but I get by with it in my line of work). Could your problem be Vista? Do you have a WinXP machine you could try this on?

I have an XP machine in a closet somewhere.  If I have time later I might try it.
