Can I use CorelDraw x4 on more than 1 system?

Recently I purchased CorelDraw x4. Can I use it on more than 1 system?

    Hi,

I am not 100% sure on that. I thought the license agreement went something like this:

You can have it on two systems, as long as they are not both in use at the same time.

    Anyone care to correct me?

This is a quote directlly from Gérard Métrailler
    Sr. Director, Product Management, Graphics

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 is not available as a floating license. You need to purchase as many copies of CorelDRAW as you install it on the different computers in your organization.

    Thanks Stodare,

Has the license agreement changed or am I just not on the same page? I thought you could have it on two (at least with v12). I must have been mistaken. Embarrassed

To clarify, you are not allowed to use the same license of CorelDRAW on two different computers at the same time. You are however allowed to install your copy of CorelDRAW Graphics Suite on a second computer such as a laptop if your primary computer is a desktop machine, at the condition that both copies are never used at the same time. You are not allowed to install it more than twice on devices that you use, so don't put CorelDRAW on every computer in your company for example if you don't have the appropriate number of licenses.

There are some exceptions to this for certain countries, and to get all the details, you should read the End User License Agreement that you get when installing the software, from the About menu in the application or from the Corel web site. Here is the first sentence of the CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 EULA:

Unless you have a written agreement with Corel providing for additional Use, the below agreement gives you permission to install and Use one (1) copy of this Product on one (1) computer or electronic device at any given time as set out in more detail below.

UPDATE: I need to add a little disclaimer here. Please don't ask me if this specific scenario is legal or not and if your usage is possible or not... First, I am not a lawyer, and second, it is up to you to make sure you comply with the EULA ;-)

On occasion, I will bring company work home at night to finish before a deadline. I have a copy of X3 from work installed at home on my desktop at home (thinking that it was legit). Is that not in compliance with the agreement? At home I own a copy of 12.

That means I can use a second copy of Corel x4 on my laptop at home.

    Thanks all

Paul, I just updated my original message... I am not the right person to confirm the legality of your specific usage, I can only tell you the intend of the EULA (I am not a lawyer and have no intention of becoming one Cool).

Gerard, in all times Corel license worked as described sector6 and others. Users always may install software legally into two PC, one at work and one at home (not important does this was laptop or desktop) with rule, that only one copy will work actually at same time (you can't be at work and at home in same time? In SOHO case no need install into 2 PC at all). If this was silently changed this must were note in part "What's new?" about Corel Draw X4 GS, IMHO...

This is still the case, except in certain countries where piracy rates are above 80% (China for example).
