    Ventura 8 and Windows SP3

We still use VP 8 and have recently upgraded to Windows XP SP3 which seems to have caused some serious trouble.

We've had 3 files now that have simply deleted text from a certain point to the end of a chapter! We also had one file that substituted an entire paragraph for a short sting of characters that appeared to be part of the chapter name, then arrowing through that text cased an application error!

The problem is sporratic and I'm in a bit of a panic as we have a LOT of work VP8 and quit a few standard designs that we'll need to continue using at least until they can be recreated in InDesign (yuck).

Any hints on this would be greatly apprecaited.

    Best,

    Ken Krugh

Re: Ventura 8 and Windows SP3

    Hi Ken,

I don't run any version of Ventura, but I have found issues with XP SP3. Especialy on AMD proccesor based systems and Intel Xenon proccesor based systems. I really havn't seen much benifit to running it on my personal computer. But at the same time it hasn't broken anything that I have noticed. On systems that experience issues with it, I have no bones about removing it. I, (personally) suggest you do the same. Not, an answer to your question, but maybe a bit of insight into SP3.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate your reply. I'm going to try going back.

Any idea if it is better to use Add Remove programs or System Restore to go back?

    Thanks again,

    Ken

     Hi Ken,

I would use Add/Remove first. If that doesn't give desired results, then run system restore.

    Have a good day!
