    Line Spacing

How do I change line spacing in artistic/paragraph text randomly i.e. not fixed within a paragraph?

I am unable to do so with artistic text.
But in with paragraph text, sometimes I can do so by just click on the empty spacing and change the font size, but sometimes it doesn't work.
I have no idea how to do it exactly, just by luck so far.

    Micheal

There will be only line spacing in case of Artistic Text. Randomly increasing or decresing the line spacing is possible as shown in the image.

You have Extra options of before and after paragraph spacing with paragraph text. Same thing as above can be done with paragraph text. Here the line spacing, Before and after paragraph settings are increased or decreased as you drag the icon circled in red.

Hope I have understood your question.

Another thing I can suggest is that you need not leave an extra empty line. As if you do so then every time you change the font size you need to do it seperately with the text and the empty lines.

    Re: Line Spacing

    Easy one...

    1. Leave all line spacing the same

    2. Using the node edit tool hit the text then select all the characters you want to shift down.

    3. Use nudge to drop the characters to the amount required.

You can just drag them down but if you use nudge you can more easily repeat what you do.

    Re: Line Spacing

Anand, the way you describe is exactly the same way as the Line Spacing option would work - but it affect ALL lines.
I only want to decrease the spacing of the empty line between text, while the spacing between two lines of text remains.

    Re: Line Spacing

Yani, the way you suggest will work if I only have a few letters and a few lines.
In fact I can do that easier by create each of the phrase as individual artistic text.

But now I have full page of text paragrapgh......

    Re: Line Spacing

No possible using artistic text as it doesn't have paragraph spacing

If you can convert to paragraph text you can use line space + paragraph spacing and put soft returns between lines (shift return) and doesn't that have major refresh issues BTW.

You can do as many lines as you like using the first message but it is manual and time consuming.

I did try to copy artist text with that sort of spacing applied but when pasted back the spacing is lost.

So you can do artistic text manually or use paragraph text and line + paragraph space.

I can't see any other options and I had a play with it.

    Re: Line Spacing

    Thanks Yani.
Playing with the Before Paragraph & After Paragraph settings do the trick.

I'm wondering how it was done in the past though I cannot reproduce that.
Previously I just click on the spacing between paragraph and change the font size and it's done, well, sometimes.

    Re: Line Spacing

    Now this is weird.

Just like the previous clicking method, now changing the Before Paragraph & After Paragraph setting also has the same problem i.e. doesn't change anything and only work by chance.

    Could there be something corrupted?

    Re: Line Spacing

    Ahh....never mind....got it.

You have to do it in some correct steps:
    1. Change the Before Paragraph & After Paragraph setting
    2. Create the spacing between paragraphs.

Which means the settings would not affect existing spacing.

    Re: Line Spacing

Remember you can use a soft return as well. Shift Return = NO para space

    Re: Line Spacing

The Before Paragraph & After Paragraph setting doesn't work on soft return.
They only work on normal/hard return.
