output is grey, not in colour as on screen?

I have a catalogue to print. The basic colour is black.
To make a smooth transition between the product edge and the black background I put a copy of the image in grey with gaussian blur.

Everything looks fine on the screen. But when I'm printing the image and the gaussian blur has been converted into grey colour. Or, it could look like the gaussian blur has been put on top of the image with transparency (but it hasn't).
I do also have some text in colour on the same page. Those objects has been printed correctly.

If I convert the file into PDF the colours are printed correctly.

Does anyone know what I do wrong when printing the cdr file?
    Thanks for any advice.

Maybe you have "Output color bitmaps as:" selected to print grayscale instead of color. This is in the print dialog under the "misc" tab.

Another option is to rasterize the entire page when printing because sometimes outputting transparencies to a non-postscript device will give you errors.
