    Exporting Bitmaps Issue

    Hello-

I have created several vector graphics in CorelDraw and am needing to either export them as GIFs or PNGs.

The images are circles and ovals and when I export the grahic the finished bitmap ends up cutting off the top/bottom/sides of the graphic. (giving the appearance of a flat edge.)

I have tried several different ways of exporting the gifs/pngs. Preferrably I would like to keep these with a transparent background, not a white background. They do work fine if I add a white box behind the image.

I have included an example image of the final exported image.

    Thank you!

    Hi funkycoldsabrina

First you should make your vector shapes in the same size or larger than you need it in the bitmap.
Next you should place a white rectangle without outline behind your shape. Just a litle bit larger than your shape.
When you make the export then choose: Transparency - Image color - Index 255.
Afterward you maybe need to make some adjustments of the edge in Photo-Paint.

    Hi Flemming-

Thank you for the timely response.

I have already done the export with the white box behind the graphics. I am trying to avoid those extra steps since I have about 100 graphics to export. Do you have any other suggestions? Or insight on why this may be happening?

    Hi Sabrina

Unfortunately I don't know why this happens.

I am not shure if my next suggestion would save you any time, but could a solution be to create the shapes in Photo-Paint?

If you do so and export to GIF you achieve a more smooth edge.

Unfortunately I needed a vector version as well as a raster version of the artwork. So I created the orginal shapes in Draw.

It may have something to do with anti-aliasing settings for export.  Export tools often ignore the "spreading" effect of antialiasing.

Try the export WITHOUT antialiasing to verify...

    Hi Swilly

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Unfortunately that did not work either.

Your solution is a macro that will draw the rectangle with not fill or outline around the objects that you want to export. The macro could export to the directory that you please.
