    Visioneye,

Buy a copy of Corel Ventura. CorelDRAW is not the right tool for the job.

Corel Ventura is a product you'll need to purchase on a disc. It is not a
    downloadable product.

It is not inexpensive, but it is made to do books. CorelDRAW is not a good
    choice for producing books.

    1 -  create a new document, A4 horizontal

2 - double click on thr page border, go to Options / Document / Page / Layout and choose Booklet and Facing Pages. Press enter, and you will have an A5 vertical

3 - insert all pages that you need, and you can do your work

4 - Go to Print Preview... ready! you don't need anymore

Re: how to design book layout

    Hi Visioneye

Foster has recommended, CorelVentura. I have not used it. Though CorelDRAW is not a right tool for such jobs, I have been using it for a lomg time for crating books.

    About your job :

I saw the sample.jpg file you have posted. You need to use master layers with facing pages option put on. Now in X4 the working with Layers  has been made much easier with some added features. IMO, the problem in working with books with CorelDRAW is page numbering, Preparing Index, word glossery etc. I used my own macro for page numbering and the find and replace wizard to find the keywords etc.

I recommend to use CorelDRAW only if you are familier with using the text and graphics styles & colour styles featuer in DRAW.

I know there is some additional work involved in CorelDRAW than other software that meant for such jobs. But I am comfortable with DRAW.

Re: how to design book layout

Sorry for late reply. If I have understood your question, there's no such setting called "Book layout" in DRAW. You need to setup you page manually as per your requirements. However, If you are working on a layout that has to be frequently used, then you can save the layout as a template and use it for further requirements.
