How do I import a font into Corel so that it appears in my font list?

I know how to download the free fonts from the i-net. I need to know exactly how to install them or bring them into Corel. It is in a zipped file, currently on my desktop. Please give specific dummy instructions. I have only been working on Corel since 4 months.

thank you, feel free to email me directly at maria@buzzpromotionals.com

Create a folder on your C drive c:\fonts\

Fonts work best when installed in the shortest path possible.

Double click the zipped file and extract the files within to your c:\fonts\ folder.  The Zip extraction tool in Windows will allow you to chose the destination folder.

Open Bitstream Font Navigator (comes with Draw X3) and choose FILE - FIND FONTS and allow the tool to search your drive for new fonts. Once it is done, you can drag the fonts from the Left Pane to the Right Pane in Font Navigator to install.

These fonts are now available to all applications.

Probably you didn't install the component during installation.
Insert your CD, run the installtion, choose Modify, then tick the Bitstream Font Navigator in the Available Features list, and Begin.

    Marial,

Did you look in the Start menu inside CorelDRAW program group?

I would highly recommend you get a copy of my CorelDRAW book. It has a whole chapter on how to install/uninstall and deal with fonts. Not to mention all of the other stuff it covers.

Maria, if you haven't installed (or don't want to install) Font Navigator, just drag and drop the font file (after you've unzipped it) into the folder C:\WINDOWS\Fonts. The font will then be available to all of your Windows applications.

     Maria -

If you are a Windows user, you can open the Control Panel and choose the fonts folder. Then choose File, Import New Font and follow the path to the unzipped file. (Your Windows program should unzip this file if you double click on it.)
