How to make my own template?

    Hi!

I've started working with CorelDraw GS X4 quite recently. Now I've been asked by friends of mine to design the birth-card of their child who will be born in about two months. For this reason I would like to make a template for such a card. The card must be folded, 130 mm x 130 mm. I need to use all four sides of the cards and I would like all sides (so the whole card) in one document.

How can I do this? I hope someone can help me (in an explanation I can understand as a beginner in this software.. Tongue Tied

    THANKS!

    Anna (The Netherlands)

Hello Anna, there are several ways. It depends on what you prefer; you can use multiple pages where you can paste the main elements, or multiple layers, which you can toggle between visible and unvisible.

BTW: there is no need to post your question twice in the forums...That might confuse some... Smile Wink

Re: How to make my own template?

    - Start a new document. Setup the page as 260x130 horizontal (or what you need): twice of the individual page

    - Go to Layout (in the Options menu / document / page / Layout), and choose "Booklet" and "facing pages". Press Enter and you will have a document with one page, 130x130 mm. Add 3 more pages.

    - Create you own design. When finish, go to the Print Preview: you will see the four pages, 4-1 and 2-3, in the correct order.

If you want to use it as a "template", you can save the empty document as a .cdt document (cdt is for "CorelDRAW template"). For example, "mycard.cdt" in any folder. You can open it and save as .cdr document every time you want. But it's so easy to create a new document, that you don't need a lot of templates, you can make your own document in a minute.

    Hope that can help you
