I did this the other night, its a picture of my wife to be, the love of my life.

My idea was better then my execution but I did have a few beers, and it looked better at the time!

Suggestions for improvement please.

Oh, PommyJosh. It's a shame noone dares to give you a tip. I do so, my friend: In fact the human eye isn't really pure white(nerved with small veins). Try to apply some skin color(10-15%) to it and darken the lower/right eye a little more. It will bring the portrait of your wife to life..;-))

Nevertheless: Great work!

More modeling definately, with gradient or just more levels of vectors.

Color is very important.  The colors now are dark and depressing emotionally.  Think about color and what kind of mood you want to express here.

More detail and modeling in hair, eyes and mouth will greatly enhance her face.  A woman's eyes, mouth and skin tone are critical.

Hope I didn't offend.

Hay guys, thanks for the help...I am still learning to use Corel and struggle sometimes to pull off my ideas.

I wanted the picture to be a fiarly dark one...I have been struggling with a few "life issues" and Christine has been my light in the darkness.

I also wanted to play on the idea of negative space and use the shadow to define the face. With her eyes as the focus.

I will rework the picture tonight....and repost Tuesday (no internet at home...and long weekend)

Thanks again Mo and Ted. :-)

That explains much Josh.  I have a better sense of what you're trying to express here.  It will be interesting watching the work evolve.
