Large files crash corel draw - why?

Hi all, I am trying to open large files of sizes between 300 and 700mb in corel draw but it freezes right away and I have to kill it through the taskmanager. I set the memory usage in the options to 97% of the ram but it still doesnt help. The file type I am trying to open is a AI document. I tried to...
