Color transparancy application

I haven't worked with the program, professionally, for a long time and I feel dumb that I don't remember how to apply transparancy colors to my artwork. Please can someone help an old soul that's forgotten? Thanks. Susan Lydic

How can I fill the inside of a line object?

I drew a scallop using grids, and the 3 pt curve tool, then I combined all the arcs to form a rectangular scallop design that I'm making for a friend to use on her website. Problem is, I need to connect the scallop to a rectangle so it will be a brown border and the inside of the scallop needs to...
